How to Work Out: The three things you need to do the first month

1.      Smile, then Show up at the Gym:  Just walk in the door and: You’ve won!
Studies say those that actually show up at the gym get in better shape, condition and frame of mind. Those that don’t, don’t.

a.       Walking into the gym means you won. Give yourself a high five for showing up. Most people don’t show up or if they do, they work themselves to death right away and it is painful and embarrassing or too hard, and they quit.

b.      I want you to show up, reward yourself and go easy and light.

2.      SMILE and  Have Fun:  Enjoy your time.
If you are not enjoying it, or having some fun or feel good about it, you will stop doing it, period.  Only Masochists continue working out if they don’t enjoy it.  Stow your ego and have a little fun with it Sparky.

a.       Your  job in the Gym:  Is to have FUN, period! Go at your own pace, enjoy it, s-l-o-w-l-y increase your efforts and weights.

b.      For the first month, lift lightly, run short and slow.

c.       Walk out in one piece and live to lift another day.

3.       Smile and Go Back: Go to the Gym again.

a.       Lots of people give up after one day, one week, one month.

b.      If you enjoy it, if you are not going crazy in there, you may keep coming back.

c.       So go back again and give yourself a high five.  After a month of easy lifting and gentle cardio, you are now more fit than 80% of all Americans!

d.       Is that it? Yup, if you do that it will all work out. You will be fitter, more energetic, better looking and you will  live longer.
