This is just a short update on my fasting post earlier. For the past month I’ve been ‘fasting’ for lunch most working days. This in effect gives me two real meals per day. The reason ‘fasting’ is in quotes is simple. I’m not really fasting, I’m calorie restricting during the day. Most days I eat almonds, pecans and raw walnuts and about five pieces of fruits from 8am until dinner time around 7pm.
The energy levels are still better than before I started doing this but they don’t seem as pronounced. This may be that I’m just accoustomed to the energy level and it doesn’t therefore, feel so intense. This is backed up by the fact on the rare days I eat a full lunch, I feel EXHAUSTED an hour later. It’s so tiring that it is scary. I almost pass out and need a nap. On those lunch days I inevitably drink a lot of coffee just to stay a wake.
My morning ‘dry’ weight is 181 lbs these days, which is low, but not unprecedented.
My focus and productivity is still quite high. I attribute this to an overall happiness with my life and a keen desire to do the best I can with my time. This is huge for me and I feel wonderful when I’m efficient with my time.
I’ll keep doing this for a while and maybe even try a full day of fasting. More to come….
